About this Talk

ReScape's 8 Principles speak to the whole systems foundation necessary for addressing the environmental challenges facing us. In the same way that we are working to mitigate and adapt to the physical realities of climate breakdown, there is an emerging recognition that we also need to tend our “internal ecosystems” —thoughts, feelings, and accompanying physiological responses. As climate impacts increase, our emotional distress rises in tandem: Our internal landscapes can no longer be artificially severed from our external ones.

Psychology is powerful in addressing the emotional underpinnings of climate issues to build resiliency when individuals and communities are faced with immediate and long-term climate chaos that provoke trauma, grief, anxiety and depression.

Everyone has an important role in the great shift that is occurring at this time. It is especially valuable to enliven the emotional intelligence that can inform the focused, practical and long-term action needed to together successfully make the changes required. Leslie will provide resources, and tools that address the eco-anxiety, grief, and the range of feelings that accompany the climate crisis.
